Scraps part two

Well i can be sure that the word patchwork will go very well with this quilt project there are lots of patches for sure. This is what i produced today and I think it is going to turn out alright. This is the centre of the quilt and i am quite surprised how nice it came out considering they were all odd bits and pieces my mum was watching and said it was interesting seeing it come together. Here is the top nearly completed i am going to add a border as the quilt has turned out rather long and skinny, but i have decided to  add minky on the back and instead of cutting off the quilt to make it the right length i am going to allow it to going on to back. Well we shall see call back and see the next episode of this scrap project.

Quilt no pattern

As i told you in my newsletter, i have been at my mothers who has been unwell, of course this is 70miles away from where all my fabric is so i cannot even play with my fabric. So i took my Mother with me for an hour and went to the warehouse, I pulled out a couple of honey buns and a length of quilt essential in cream and a brown from the itsy bits range. I had no pattern in mind so started to do what ever came to my head. ( I know disaster looming.) All my honey buns were 1.5″ but from a variety of fabrics, so i started off by sewing 3 strips together and then cut a square and cut it down the centre and added a strip of the 3 fabrics. Great i thought but what now, then i thought oh great i will do some log cabin around the squares. Here is a picture of that you can see that i love bright colours, but you can also see that because my centre was not square my finished square needed some adjustments. Why not check back tomorrow and see how i am progress. Sue

I always have great ideas for Christmas and often i find that time runs away with me, what do get first the gifts or make my craft items.

Well this this i have combined both, i have mad gifts for a lot of my family and friends. This solves two things my desire to sew and give nice gifts why not give it a try.

Fun day

Today i had fun folding and putting fabric away in the warehouse. You may think oh she gets to do that all the time, but it is not that often that i get to spend time there because of my expat life style. Some of the fabric we have is really beautiful and i know that if you could touch and feel it we would be rush off our feet with orders. I suppose that is the downside of buying off the internet it would be nice if postage was so inexpensive that we could afford to offer free return postage, but unfortunately  we do not live in that dream world. We are happy to accept a fabric back into stock if you feel it was not quite what you were looking for. Well maybe in the future who know we might have touch a vision, well come on lets face it who would have thought 20years ago we would all be spending our time surfing the web. We would have asked is that a holiday resort. Come to think about it who would have thought 20 years ago i would have had so much fabric to touch and fold. Oh well off now for more sweet dreams

Happy Quilting

Vintage Garden

Hours of embroidery on my Husqvarna Diamond have produced this stunning top. Some blocks took over  10hours to sew out. It is not quilted yet but i thought you might like to see it. This pattern is from Jenny Haskins.
